Logo<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The logo is RUB’s most important visual identifier. It represents who we are and ensures instant recognition\u2014on campus, in research, and wherever RUB has a presence. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sender options<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We use different logo versions depending on who is communicating:1. RUB as the sender<\/strong> \u2013 We use the logo without any additional elements.We use this version for the university\u2019s central communications.2. RUB as sender with the institution\u2019s name<\/strong> \u2013 The logo includes the name of a faculty or institution, making clear which part of RUB is speaking. 3. Sub-organisation as sender with RUB endorsement <\/strong>\u2013 Initiatives or projects with their own logo show their connection to RUB by placing our wordmark alongside theirs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Logo Versions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In designed materials, there are two options: In the standard logo, the text appears directly next to the cube. We can use this version in our designs and also share it with external partners. For more flexible designs, there is a variant in which the cube and the text appear separately. This version is not intended for sharing with external parties. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Clear Space<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The logo needs clear space to breathe. We maintain a defined margin between the logo and surrounding elements such as text, images, or page edges. This clear space ensures the logo retains its visual impact. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Minimum size<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To ensure the logo is clearly legible, we do not go below a specified minimum size. In digital media, the logo must be at least 36 px high (except for the favicon). In print, the logo must be at least 11 mm high. If the wordmark appears on its own, it must be at least 7 px or 2 mm high. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Logo Alongside Partner Logos<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When our logo appears next to other logos, we match their height so all logos carry equal visual weight.If partner logos appear in a single colour (e.g. grey), our logo may also be shown in that colour for a cohesive look. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Special case: logo on blue<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When the logo appears on a blue background\u2014such as signage or wayfinding systems\u2014we use the negative version with the cube and wordmark in white.If printing limitations prevent this, a black-and-white version may be used instead. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Special Case: Social Media and Favicon<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For apps, profile pictures, favicons, and social media, we use a dedicated version: the cube centred within a circle, optimised for small, often round display areas.Separate versions are available for favicons and app icons. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Custom Logos for Faculties and Sub-Organisations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When a faculty or institution communicates as part of RUB, we add its name to the wordmark. Depending on length, the text is arranged over two or three lines, with a maximum of 30 characters per line. Line breaks are chosen for optimal legibility. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

For sub-organisations with their own visual identity, the sub-organisation’s logo appears on the left, with “Ruhr-Universit\u00e4t Bochum” in three lines to the right.
