Icons and Illustrations<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Icons and illustrations complement our visual identity and make complex content easy to understand at a glance. They help users navigate digital applications and bring a sense of ease to our communication. Here you\u2019ll find all the basics for using them correctly. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Icons<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For the design, we may use the Entypo icon library (icongr.am\/entypo)<\/a><\/strong>. It is free and offers a wide selection of icons for various topics. If needed, we can create our own icons and adapt them to the existing style. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To break up layouts, icons can be used like stickers. To do this, we add a white outline and a shadow to them. This makes them stand out from the background and brings the design to life. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Icons for Interfaces<\/strong>We use Lucide Icons for interfaces. For more information, see the Web Design<\/a><\/strong> chapter. For legal reasons, Lucide Icons may only be used for user interfaces, not for illustrations, infographics, or print materials. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Illustrations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Illustrations make complex concepts easier to understand and add variety to our communication. They are particularly useful in situations where photos are not possible or practical\u2014such as with abstract topics, process diagrams, or to break up the visual monotony. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have deliberately chosen not to have a fixed illustration style. Depending on the context and target audience, different styles may be used. To ensure the illustrations are consistent with the RUB\u2019s brand identity, we use our brand colors, particularly RUB blue. In illustrations, colors from different color groups may be combined. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
