Frequently Asked Questions About the New Corporate Design
Here, we answer the most important questions about the development and implementation of the new corporate design for Ruhr University Bochum (RUB).
The results of the design development are expected to be published on a brand portal in summer 2026. This is an online platform that explains the design to all users and makes it accessible through various templates, downloads, and design examples. Training sessions and workshops are also planned for the future.
We are rolling out the new visual identity in phases. Existing materials featuring the previous design may continue to be used until they are depleted or need to be updated anyway. Effective immediately, we will design new materials using the new corporate design. This allows us to use existing resources sustainably and ensures a smooth transition.
The design is expected to be rolled out in phases starting in the summer of 2026. We are currently reviewing how and when web design guidelines will be made available as part of the new corporate identity.
For creating websites in the corporate design at Ruhr University Bochum, the Imperia content management system (CMS) remains available for the new design—as it has been in the past—under a campus-wide contract covering the entire university. If you prefer a different content management system, you must manage it on your own; IT.SERVICES offers hosting options for this purpose, which you are responsible for managing yourself. You can find more information here.
Currently, there are plans to publish the web design via a new central online platform; alternatively, support through centrally provided design templates for the major content management systems used at RUBis also being considered. Both options are currently being evaluated. The web design is expected to be rolled out gradually starting in the summer of 2026 as part of the corporate design launch. The specific date when the technical implementation of the web design will be possible will be announced at a later time.
